Iceline Trail / by Ethan Astall

Starting at Takakkaw Falls you can choose to do the iceline loop clockwise or anti clockwise. We chose clockwise (way better in the end). A flat easy trail first leads you to another waterfall after a few kms. From here its about a 2 and half hour slog through the trees via Celeste Lake before you hit the glaciers at the top. There is an option to go higher and follow more of the glaciers above but it adds a considerable amount of kms on top of your day.

Here your greeted with an amazing landscape of glaciers all around you, aqua lakes and a birds eye view of Takakkaw Falls. The path winds its way back down to the bottom of the falls and you honestly feel like your on another planet its so surreal.

20km, 850m elevation, 5 hours 40 Minutes
