Border Ranges - Pinnacle Lookout Sunrise / by Ethan Astall

Border Ranges National Park is as it sounds, borders NSW and QLD. Being the remains of an ancient Volcano filled with amazing Gondwana Rainforest is your one stop for amazing camp spots and forest walks. We pulled up to the Pinnacle lookout late at night and hit the sack for hopefully what was going to be an amazing sunrise.

Awaken by the chortle of various rainforest birds we sprung out of bed and walked the 200m track to the look out (grade 3 allow 45 minutes return) We sometimes wonder who national parks create these unreasonably high times for. With nothing more than a couple of breaths we perched up on the lookout for sunrise and sunk a coffee out of the thermo.
